Raising awareness for rescues:

In 2009, we took our rock inspired dog apparel collection to the runway as a proud sponsor and creator of Rescues Rock The Runway to benefit Paws 4 You Rescue Inc. at the Mayfair Hotel in Miami, Fl. The event also marked the debut of our line of Rescue Wear - designed to promote awareness for Rescue groups, Adoption and Spay/Neuter programs nationwide with 15% of our retail sales being donated to Paws 4 You Rescue. Local rescues were transformed into super models. The event raised thousands of dollars and all of our models found their forever homes that night. Gaining attention on a national level, our Rescue Wear was featured in Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, FOX news, Modern Dog, The Daily Candy, Animal Planet, and Ladies Home Journal to name a few.

Billboard space donated by CBS gained prime exposure to our event.

FRANKIE

Background: Frankie was found by a local South Beach resident and brought to the P4Y adoption team at Petco one Saturday afternoon. He was immediately taken to the vet for an overall health check and then scheduled for a dental and neuter a few days later. Shy, but extremely sweet, Frankie was a hit at all the adoption events.

Success Story: Frankie was adopted by a little girl and her family as their first family dog. He still resides on South Beach and makes frequent visits to the nearby marina.

PEARL

Background: Pearl was rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services where she had no chance of being adopted. As well as being extremely underweight, she had no hair and scabs all over her body. Being a stray, she was exposed to the sun, which made her skin become infected. A Paws 4 You volunteer saw her and knew her potential of becoming a beautiful, adoptable loyal companion!

Success Story: With nutritional meals every 3 hours, the proper medical attention, and a lot of TLC from her devoted foster parents, Pearl is now absolutely radiant and is loved by her new family in her forever home.

SIMON

Background: Rescued from the pound, Simon and his brother Randy spent close to a year in Paws 4 You’s care.  After his brother was adopted out, Simon became depressed and this lovable mush of a dog kept being overlooked at adoption events.

Success Story: After being chosen to walk the “dog-walk” at TORU’s Rescues Rock The Runway event, co-owners Vanessa & Susan kept a close eye on Simon as he made quite an impression on them. After learning that he was the only dog not adopted out from the event, Vanessa took him in to foster. Today, Simon is a much loved and happy member of the TORU pack along with Jack below.

Success Story: Paws 4 You heard about Jack and referred a fantastic couple (the Rossmans) who were looking to adopt. It was love at first sight! With a lot of work and TLC, today Jack is more confident, has gotten over many fears, and showers us with kisses all day long.

TROOPER

Background: This big teddy bear was adopted and returned three different times from Miami Dade Animal Services; not by any fault of his own, just bad luck.  The day he was rescued by Paws 4 You was the day he was to be euthanized due to a lack of space. His large size was said to be “less adoptable.”

Success Story: Trooper was adopted by a loving family with two girls who can’t get enough of this gentle giant.

LU

Background: A volunteer at Paws 4 You Rescue spotted Lu at Miami-Dade animal services and rescued her from their euthanasia list. Lu was a little underweight but otherwise healthy, hard to believe she was scheduled to be put down. A common problem known as “black dog syndrome,” where black dogs tend to get overlooked because people fear they will be aggressive. All Lu wanted was to be loved and was eager to please.

Success Story: Adopted by a family of five, Lu’s foster knows that Lucy (Lu’s new name) is now getting five times the love and five times the tummy rubs!
